The Department was recently ranked among the top graduate programs in National Research Council, placing in the 2-9 range out of 90 programs!

The department has a strong placement record in multiple disciplines both inside and outside of academia. Since 2000, 47% of our Ph.D. graduates are in permanent academic positions (30% philosophy and 17% non-philosophy); 13% have found permanent non-academic employment; and 35% are currently in post-doc or other short-term research positions in academia.
