CEP Mission The Center for Ethics and Policy is an interdisciplinary center dedicated to advancing applied ethics and political philosophy through the integration of first-quality theoretical reflection and a discerning engagement with the practical settings in which important ethical issues arise. Its members include internationally recognized scholars and practitioners drawn from a diverse range of units across Carnegie Mellon University.

Center News & Awards CEP co-sponsors international workshop on "Ethics of Post-Conflict and Post-Disaster DNA Identification." CEP members receive $1.2 million NIH grant to develop ethics and policy recomendations for post-conflict and post-disaster DNA identification practices. Robert Cavalier wins 2010 World Technology Award in the category of Ethics. CEP's Program for Deliberative Democracy receives a 2010 grant from The Pittsburgh Foundation to run a Deliberative Poll in conjunction with the Foundation's Local Government Improvement Plan.
